**AdGuard DNS Personal** ★★★★☆ (4/5) Moved from a self-hosted AdGuard Home setup to AdGuard DNS Personal and it's been a worthwhile switch. Setup takes minutes: point your devices or router at their servers and ad/tracker blocking just works, without a NAS or Pi that can go down and take DNS with it. The dashboard is clean, with easy to read query logs, per device stats, and support for multiple profiles if you want different rules for different people or devices. Custom block and allow lists are still there too. The tradeoff is trust. You're handing your DNS query history to a third party, which matters if privacy from the provider itself is a concern. The free tier's query limits can also feel tight in a busy household. Good pick if you want reliable ad blocking without maintaining your own server. Not the pick if full local control is the priority.

Smooth buying via StackSocial. Fast activation, but VAT adds up at checkout. Rated 4 stars due to app issues, not the purchase. I set AdGuard Cloud Private DNS on my kid's Android, but TikTok and Instagram bypass it. To block them, you must clear app cache. If you pause blocking for 1-2 hours and resume, apps still work. Clearing cache constantly is impossible since older kids notice you touching their phones. Great for ads, but frustrating for strict app control.
